  17th Session of FAO/WHO Coordinating Committee for Africa take place from January 23th to the January 26th 2007 in Morocco

 

The environment and consumer protection association of the Eastern area of Morocco (APCE Oujda, Morocco) along with the Committee of FAO and OMC (the Codex Alimentarius), in terms of a co-operation are pleased to announce the creation of the Web site: www.codexafrique.org. This will make it possible to achieve the coordination of Codex Alimentarius works for the area of Africa and take action of one of objectives of the strategic plan suggested by the Codex for the coordination of the CCAFRICA. It will allow to facilitate the access to information concerning the activities of the Codex in the area of Africa and to raise discussions and a sharing of information between the of the Codex sessions through its forum and its news bulletins.

   
  FAO ENCOURAGES EARLY WITHDRAWAL OF HIGHLY TOXIC PESTICIDES

Danish chemicals company Cheminova has submitted plans for phasing out highly toxic forms of pesticides in developing countries to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in line with the International Code of Conduct on the Distribution and Use of Pesticides. DRAFT STRATEGIC PLAN FOR THE COORDINATION OF CCAFRICA
Governments and interested international organizations are invited to comment on the revised draft Strategic Plan for the Coordination of CCAFRICA(www.codexalimentarius.net). The draft Strategic Plan along with the comments submitted will be considered by the 17th Session of the FAO/WHO Coordinating Committee for Africa.
